As part of the Citizen Musician initiative, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago performed portions of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony along North Michigan Ave to celebrate the Chicago River Day and raise awareness of the city-wide river clean-up efforts organized by Friends of the Chicago River.

These pop-up performances were offered as part of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s RIVERS Festival (May 9-Jun 9), concerts and special events examining the significance of rivers in music and culture, the impact they have had throughout history and their importance for the future of our planet.
